Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply when you use the South Lake Tahoe Concrete website, contact us or hire us for work. By using the site or booking a job with us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work through it.

When we give you a written estimate or contract for a specific job, that document controls the details of that job. If it says something different from these terms, the written estimate or contract wins.

What we do

We're a concrete contractor in South Lake Tahoe, CA, pouring and repairing flatwork, which means driveways, patios, sidewalks and other slabs, along with steps, retaining walls, footings, foundations and related work. The services and descriptions on our home page and About page are general information, not a promise that we take on every job or every type of project.

Every job is different because of the ground, the drainage, the access and the weather, so the scope of your job is whatever your written estimate or contract describes.

Estimates and pricing

We give free estimates at your property, with no pressure and no obligation. An estimate is our best price based on what we can see and measure that day.

Some conditions only show up once the old slab is out or the digging starts, like soft or wet subgrade, which is the soil the slab sits on, buried debris, roots or rock. If we find something that changes the work, we'll stop, explain it and agree a change with you before we go ahead. We won't add charges for extra work you haven't approved.

Unless the estimate says otherwise, an estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, material and labor costs may have changed and we may need to update the price.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We schedule each job with you and do our best to keep that date. Concrete depends on the weather, so we may move a pour when rain, snow, freezing temperatures or heat would hurt the finished slab, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.

Delays from weather, material shortages, permit or inspection timing, or other things outside our control aren't a breach of our agreement. We'll reschedule with you at the next workable date.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as early as you can. If we've already ordered materials or done prep work for your job, we may charge for those costs, and your estimate or contract will say how that works.

Payment

Payment amounts, any deposit and due dates are set out in your written estimate or contract. Payment is due when that document says it is.

If a balance goes unpaid, we may pause further work until it's settled and use the collection options California law allows. We'd much rather talk it through, so please call us early if something's wrong.

Our work and what concrete can't promise

We stand behind our workmanship, and our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. Any specific written warranty for your job is the one in your estimate or contract, and it covers only what that document says.

Concrete can crack even when it's built right. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line, and we prep the base to keep movement down, but small hairline cracks are normal and aren't a defect.

We aren't responsible for damage caused by things outside our work, including ground movement, frost heave, tree roots, poor drainage we didn't build, deicing salts, heavy vehicles or equipment beyond what the slab was built for, or using the slab before it has finished curing, the wait that lets it reach its strength. We'll tell you how long to stay off it.

Apart from any written warranty we give you, the website and its content are provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we make no other warranties, express or implied.

Limits on our liability

To the extent California law allows, South Lake Tahoe Concrete isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of your property or lost income, arising from our services or this website.

Our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Settling a disagreement

If you're unhappy with our work, tell us first. Most problems get fixed fastest with a phone call and a visit to look at the slab together.

If we can't sort it out between us, we both agree to try good-faith mediation before going to court, unless either of us needs urgent relief from a court.

California law

These terms and any job we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any court case that does come up will be heard in a California court that has jurisdiction over the area where the work was done.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies. Changes don't affect a job already under a signed estimate or contract unless we both agree in writing.
